Khulna City Corporation New Job Circular 2024

খুলনা সিটি কর্পোরেশন (সংক্ষেপে কেসিসি) ১৯৯০ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠিত বাংলাদেশের অন্যতম প্রধান বিভাগীয় সিটি কর্পোরেশন। ১৯৮৪ সালে এটি মিউনিসিপ্যাল কর্পোরেশন হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়। খুলনা সিটি কর্পোরেশনের আয়তন ৪৫ বর্গ কিলোমিটার এবং ২০১৭ সালে জনসংখ্যা ছিল পনেরো লক্ষ খুলনা সিটি কর্পোরেশনের বর্তমান মেয়র তালুকদার আব্দুল খালেক। তিনি বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগ এর নেতা। খুলনা সিটি কর্পোরেশন স্থানীয় সরকার আইন দ্বারা পরিচালিত হয় এবং এটি এলজিআরডি মন্ত্রণালয়ের অধীন প্রতিষ্ঠান। বর্তমান স্থানীয় সরকার ও পল্লী উন্নয়ন মন্ত্রী তাজুল ইসলাম। প্রতি পাঁচবছর অন্তর খুলনা সিটি কর্পোরেশন নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

সর্বপ্রথম ১৮৮৪ সালে খুলনা নগরের মর্যাদা পায়। কলকাতা গেজেট অনুযায়ী ১৮৮৪ সালের ৮ সেপ্টেম্বর খুলনাকে মিউনিসিপাল বোর্ড ঘোষণা করা হয়। এরপর ১৩ ডিসেম্বর রেভারেন্ড গগন চন্দ্র দত্ত প্রথম চেয়ারম্যান হিসেবে দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করে। সেসময়ে টুটপাড়া, শেখপাড়া, চারাবাটি, হেলাতলা এবং কয়লাঘাট এলাকায় সমন্বয়ে খুলনা পৌর সরকার যাত্রা শুরু করে। মিউনিসিপ্যালিটি অ্যাডমিনিস্ট্রেশন অর্ডিন্যান্স (পৌরসভা প্রশাসন অধ্যাদেশ)-এর দ্বারা খুলনা মিউনিসিপাল বোর্ডের নাম পালটে খুলনা মিউনিসিপাল কমিটি করা হয়, পাশাপাশি পৌর এলাকাকে ৪.৬৪ বর্গমাইল থেকে উন্নীত করে ১৪.৩০ বর্গমাইল করা হয়। তখন মিউনিসিপাল কমিটির সদস্য ছিলেন ২৮ জন এবং শহর ১৪ টি ওয়ার্ডে বিভক্ত ছিলো।

খুলনা সিটি কর্পোরেশনে এখন ৩১ টি ওয়ার্ড রয়েছে। খুলনা জেলার লবণচরা, টুটপাড়া, বানিয়া খামার, হেলাতলা, ছোট বয়রা, বয়রা, মুজগুন্নী, গোয়ালপাড়া, রায়ের মহল, পাবলা, দেয়ানা(আংশিক), দৌলতপুর, মহেশ্বরপাশা এবং মীরেরডাঙ্গা মৌজা নিয়ে সিটি কর্পোরেশনের অধিক্ষেত্র গঠিত।
